This probably doesn’t look like someone going into labor…
…but I promise you this was about 6 hours before I gave birth to a little baby boy. There is something that just happens to you when you are about to give birth. Some people call it nesting, but it’s definitely a state of hyperawareness, that is for absolute SURE. It was kind of fun to paint this way. It felt like I was painting against the clock and no one believed me that I was in labor.

“Sleeping Dragons” Fire Pit
My mom and I made this plan together. To make a firepit that honored our mountains. Something to be feared and respected, for the danger of fire. We chose the four mountain ranges and my mom and I designed dragons to go along with what my mom called, “the personality of the mountains.” Yes my mom is adorable and awesome. And yes, I painted it with her while I was in labor. And then I came back a couple weeks later to do it while I was breast feeding. Safe to say this was a team effort.

We were so sad to see it go…
but we were happy that we got to help sponsor the efforts going towards funding our mural projects in town. Looking at these pictures now is a wonderful mix of sad and happy.
