Space for Otto
There was a time when we thought that we could put Otto in Luna’s room. We bought a bunk bed, everything was peachy. But then we realized…That we just didn’t have the will power to deal with both our kids crying and crib training and waking each other up and ALL OF THAT. So Cory built a wall and we sacrified our dining room. So then Otto had a room. So I made space for Otto. And first I thought, hey, let’s make it a mountain scene.
But shortly after, I was bored with the incompleteness of it. Luna’s room was rainbow, with a starry sky on one side and ocean coral on the other. Why should Otto’s room look so classy and hum drum? SO I ditched the monocolor and got funky with it. Into Photoshop for some messy color mockups.

Photoshopping is something that I only do nicely for other people. When I’m making a file for my own reference, it’s never pretty. I’m only looking at the general concept. If I get too deep, sometimes it takes away from the fluidity of painting and I miss out on happy accidents.
I added a dome city, a planet belt, some robots, some farmed fields, purple crystals, and a couple planets in the distance. The whole thing had be feeling very No Man’s Sky.
So a couple of days later (With the kids I generally only get a couple of hours a day)… It’s finished!
