So I was scrolling through instagram one day when I found that a local business that had originally named itself Pita Diva was rebranding itself as a cafe. When I saw her logo, I knew I had to do something. Gena does not tote herself as a designer, but she is artistic, and her new temporary logo was placeholder she had made to signify her change in business strategy. When I saw the logo though, I saw what I see time and time again in Ramona…A good business with tasty things to sell…in design trouble! At least, that’s what I thought when I saw the logo. So I decided to make her a logo based on the version she made for herself and sent it to her. She loved it, and with a little compensation and NO REVISIONS (I know, GASP) she adopted it as her logo. I felt so proud to make something that will be in my home town! My dream is to spread across Ramona, slowly helping places rebrand for a more contemporary feel that doesn’t sacrifice character.
