Brittany Balcom, another local artist, and I were both a little bummed when we found out that the cafe owner wanted us to team up to make her mural. The power struggle that exists between artists sometimes can be challenging to work with! But after checking out each other’s work, we found we were an excellent match! It was an easy flow, working together. Supporting and challenging and overall good company. The first of many projects to come, we hope!
She did the gorgeous tree and the leaves. I did the roses, the people, and the pattern work. The painting’s main goal was to bring in the owner’s Lebanese heritage and I believe we did a pretty good job! What’s going to work? Team work!
